Family Forum
The Family Forum is a working group, consulting with parents, arranged in a series of meetings.
Aims of the Family Forum
To give parents a voice in the school.
To involve parents in the life of the school.
To ensure a free flow of communications between parents and the school.
To act as a link with the local community.
To represent all parents within the setting.
Who can be involved in the forum?
All parents, carers, grandparents and staff are welcome to attend the forum and take part in discussions.
When does it takes place?
The Forum takes place half termly / termly.
The meetings operate as an open discussion forum.
It provides an opportunity for us to explore (discuss & review) new initiatives and school developments with parents and to get feedback on issues in school. It is not a place to discuss individual children or staff.
This group acts as a ‘sounding board’ for the school to try and ensure that we are really able to get a feeling for what parents think about school issues. It does not have decision making powers as the Governors do, but is an important element in the development of Travis St Lawrence CE Primary School.
